Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, chilled
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 34 tbsp ice water
  • 3 ripe pears, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Cut in chilled butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Gradually add ice water until dough forms.
  5. Roll dough into a circle and press into a tart pan.
  6. Arrange pear slices on the crust.
  7. Bake for 30 minutes until crust is golden.
  8. Heat brown sugar, cream, and butter in a saucepan until smooth.
  9. Stir in sea salt and pour caramel over baked tart.
  10. Cool before serving.

Notes

  • Use firm pears for better texture.
  • Chill dough before rolling to prevent shrinking.
