Description

- 1 package filo dough (16 oz)
- 2 cups crushed pistachios
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F.
- Brush a baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer half the filo sheets, brushing each with butter.
- Sprinkle crushed pistachios evenly over the filo.
- Layer the remaining filo sheets, buttering each.
- Cut into diamond shapes before baking.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until golden.
- Boil sugar, water, honey, lemon juice, and vanilla for syrup.
- Pour syrup over baked baklava.
- Cool completely before serving.
Notes
- Keep filo dough covered with a damp towel to prevent drying.
- Cut baklava before baking for clean edges.
- Let syrup cool slightly before pouring.
- Store baklava in an airtight container.
