Description

A sweet and savory coffee cake with maple syrup and crispy bacon.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 6 slices cooked bacon, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, milk, egg, and maple syrup. Stir until combined.
  4. Pour half the batter into the pan. Sprinkle half the bacon, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  5. Add the remaining batter. Top with the rest of the bacon, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before serving.
