Description

Lebanese lamb kofta is a flavorful dish made with ground lamb and spices, served with a creamy tahini sauce.


Ingredients

  • 500g ground lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 cup tahini
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (for sauce)
  • Pinch of salt (for sauce)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix ground lamb, chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, cumin, coriander, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Shape the mixture into small oval patties or skewers.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Cook the kofta for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and fully cooked.
  5. For the tahini sauce, whisk tahini, lemon juice, water, minced garlic, and salt until smooth.
  6. Serve the kofta hot with tahini sauce drizzled on top.

Notes

  • You can grill the kofta instead of pan-frying for a smoky flavor.
  • Adjust spices to your preference.
  • Serve with pita bread or a fresh salad.
