Description
Chicken tikka masala is a flavorful and creamy Indian dish featuring marinated chicken cooked in a spiced tomato-based sauce.

- 500g boneless chicken, cut into cubes
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tbsp garam masala
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp coriander
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 400g tomato puree
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Mix yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder in a bowl.
- Coat chicken pieces with the marinade and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Heat oil in a pan and cook marinated chicken until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes.
- Return chicken to the pan and simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in heavy cream and simmer for another 5 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot.
Notes
- For best results, marinate chicken overnight.
- Adjust chili powder for desired spiciness.
- Substitute coconut milk for cream for a dairy-free version.
