A delicious and crispy tofu filling wrapped in soft bao buns, perfect for a quick meal or snack.


Ingredients

  • 200g firm tofu, pressed and cubed
  • 4 bao buns
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup shredded carrots
  • 1/4 cup sliced cucumber
  • 2 tbsp hoisin sauce

Instructions

  1. Press tofu to remove excess water and cut into cubes.
  2. Toss tofu with soy sauce, cornstarch, garlic powder, and ginger powder.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium heat and fry tofu until crispy.
  4. Steam bao buns according to package instructions.
  5. Spread hoisin sauce inside each bao bun.
  6. Fill with crispy tofu, shredded carrots, and sliced cucumber.
  7. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Press tofu for at least 15 minutes for better crispiness.
  • Adjust hoisin sauce to taste.
  • Add sriracha for extra spice.
