Description

A classic Italian dish featuring tender chicken breasts cooked in a rich Marsala wine sauce with mushrooms.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
  • 1/2 cup Marsala wine
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to even thickness and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Dredge chicken in flour, shaking off excess.
  3. Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook chicken for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add mushrooms to the skillet and cook for 5 minutes until softened.
  6. Stir in garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  7. Pour in Marsala wine and chicken broth, scraping up browned bits.
  8. Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly reduced.
  9. Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the skillet.
  10. Cook for 3-4 minutes until chicken is heated through.
  11. Garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Use dry Marsala wine for best flavor.
  • Slice mushrooms evenly for even cooking.
  • Serve over pasta or mashed potatoes.
