Ingredients

- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp orange zest
- 1 tsp ground cardamom
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a madeleine pan.
- Whisk flour, baking powder, salt, and cardamom in a bowl.
- Beat eggs and sugar until pale and thick.
- Fold in melted butter and orange zest.
- Gently mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients.
- Spoon batter into prepared pan, filling each mold 3/4 full.
- Bake 8-10 minutes until edges are golden.
- Cool in pan 2 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
Notes
- Chill batter 30 minutes for more defined humps.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
- Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
