- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 egg
- 1 cup milk
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Cut the onion into wedges but keep the base intact to form petals.
- Mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
- Whisk egg and milk in another bowl.
- Dip the onion in the flour mix, then the egg mix, then the flour again.
- Heat oil to 375°F in a deep fryer or pot.
- Fry the onion for 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
Notes
- Use a sharp knife to cut the onion evenly.
- Serve with ranch or spicy mayo.
- For extra crispiness, double-coat the onion.
