Description

A classic Indian dish featuring tender chicken in a rich, creamy tomato-based sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tbsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 cup tomato puree
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken in yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and spices for at least 2 hours.
  2. Cook marinated chicken in a pan until lightly browned. Set aside.
  3. In the same pan, melt butter and sauté onions until soft.
  4. Add tomato puree and cook for 5 minutes.
  5. Add cream and simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Add cooked chicken and kasuri methi. Simmer for 10 more minutes.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with naan or rice.

Notes

  • For best results, marinate chicken overnight.
  • Adjust chili powder to control spiciness.
  • Kasuri methi enhances flavor – don’t skip it.
